Planning

Media team that deals with TV, Digital Media, and Public Relations. Branch team that deals with
internal and external branding both. Activation team for internal and external events. Digital team
that looks after social media. Communications team that deals with all internal communications. All
of the teams plan and function interdependently.

Delegation of tasks to subordinates is useful for managers who have a lot on their plate. It saves time
and effort to manage it all effectively.

Prioritize the tasks so you avoid pressure situations. Collaborative tasks should be done at the
earliest because you are dependent on others and they are unpredictable because of availability and
similar issues.

Having a backup plan saves you from panicking. Plan, prioritize and have a pro-active approach.
Backup plan can be any alternative like less time-consuming way to complete the work.

Leading

Youth engagement is aimed at empowering students which cannot look after themselves.

Delegation of tasks to subordinates let them grow. They learn basic tasks and then move on to the
advanced ones.

Managers avoid over criticism of subordinates and treat them with respect. Subordinates in turn will
learn from their mistakes. The end goal is to maximise productivity and minimise errors. Similarly,
questioning is encouraged because communication gap creates complications.

Be a good listener to resolve conflicts regardless of next person’s attitude because it reflects your
superior leadership.

Feedback especially from subordinates helps identify your weaknesses and strengths so you can
work on them. Motivating them is just as important as registering their feedback.

Being proactive also opens up new opportunities since you are interacting with other teams out of
curiosity which is a learning experience that comes handy in the future.

Organizing

Marketing and Communications Department, MarComms has ESG category which deals with
Environment, Social and Governance which deal with the respective aspects as the name suggests.

Each team has to collaborate with other teams to make an event successful as working in isolation is
just not feasible. Thus, each team’s role becomes dynamic.

Maintaining a diary or a ledger also helps keep you organized. You are less prone to miss deadlines
or shirk away from your responsibilities if you are keeping track of them.

Organizing an event is the toughest and you have to be on the same page with all 5 teams well in
advance. Checklist comes in handy especially when on a strict deadline. Follow-ups from teams are
just as crucial since you cannot afford communication lapses.
Controlling

Subordinates are supposed to be made well aware of the best practices and the standards through
clear communication otherwise they will obviously make mistakes.

There is an anti-harassment committee and there is zero tolerance policy for harassment with a
mechanism in place to deal with such issues. Any violation leads to a formal warning and serial
offence leads to termination of the employee. Even third party-employees are free to report
anonymously through the website

K-electric requires actual goal-setting as part of their performance management system, but
personal goals are also supposed to be set by the employees to enhance productivity.

Since it’s a team, you are required to work for the best of the team. There is no place for arrogance
and self-centredness since they lead to petty arguments, blame games and a dysfunctional team.
