Chapter 9 Reflective

Whenever I start a writing essay, I tend to look at the way I am going structure the

sentences and where I put the punctuation in the sentences. Normally, what works for me is

when I have my room all cleaned, I have a candle on, comfortable clothes on, and music that has

a soft tempo. It could be whether I know somewhat what the topic of the essay and if I already

had my coffee. I would say it really depends on how the environment is for example, if I am in a

classroom with a bunch of other students and they are being loud I would say I can not work as

fast as I normally would, but if I were in my room listening to my music then I would be able to

get things done.

I tend to struggle with how to word my sentences, where to add the comas, and the right

words to match what I am trying to say. I would say that when I do write anything I could try

making bullet points and then starts elaborating on more about that sentence. And by making the

bullet points I would be able to have a more organized body paragraphs as I write my essay. I

can also have a more of a essay where I would not have to make edits or revised anything as I

have the bullet points.

As always, I have been able to write good and very well written essays in my room as I

can be comfortable in that environment. I do think that if I write all my essays in my room and

add music as I write I will be more creative and be more organized, to where I would not have to

have any of that writer’s block. Over all, by having a environment that I am comfortable I am

able to express myself more.
