Can a hacker monitor your activity by turning on the camera on
your laptop or smartphone/tablet from a foreign country?

Hacker, Cyberspace, and Cybercrime are all terms you'll hear a lot these days.

When it comes to cybercrimes, the most concerning one is the hacking of web cameras on
your computer, smartphone, laptop, tablet, or any device with a camera that is connected
to the internet. Is it possible to hack a camera today on a new and upgraded system?

And the answer is Yes, it's possible, Very few but really crazy professional hackers can
hack into your system with a simple click. You heard it right with a simple click,(I'm
referring to your action of clicking on a link or opening an email attachment.) Although
today's operating systems are extremely secure, unknowingly, people make mistakes
that cause a loophole in the system.

It could even happen with a simple 1MB software installed from an unverified source too,
So what's the solution?

below are a few steps and tips that you can follow to be safe,

1. Don’t access personal or financial data with public Wi-Fi.

2. Use a password, and keep changing it.
3. Choose your software and apps wisely.
4. Be a little suspicious about links and attachments sent to you via
email or through social media.
5. Uninstall software that you are not using,
6. If you see any suspicious software or app that you didn't install,
quickly uninstall it,(don't uninstall system apps or software in
doing so, if confused consult an expert you know very well)
7. Use a good antivirus,(even without installing Antivirus you can be
in a safe condition you don't do mistakes that we mentioned
earlier)
8. Keep your system updated, if your device doesn't support updated
OS or software please replace those.
9. Avoid inserting a Pendrive that is too old(and you are unsure of the
owner of it) or have been used in an unsecured system.
10. Use a camera cover, that's the last thing you can do,(although if
you have good antivirus no need to worry about anything).

So stay alert and safe, It's a Cyberworld.
