Welcome
Welcome in EZ Voice!
EZ Voice is the simplest vocal app on the market. Launch it, connect your microphone and you
are ready to go. Three main sections let you record, add effects and immediately share your
takes with all your friends.

What’s the function of that button?


Useful tooltips will pop up when you launch the app the first time. Tap anywhere on the screen to
make them disappear. To recall them, just hit the “?” button on the top left of the interface.

Connect Your Mic
Connect Your Mic
EZ Voice lets you connect a range of different types of microphones.

Using EZ Voice with iRig Voice, iRig Mic, iRig Mic Cast or Earbuds

1. Download EZ Voice from the iTunes App Store, and install it on your device.
2. Plug your microphone into the headphones jack of your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad.

Using EZ Voice with iRig PRE

1. Download EZ Voice from the iTunes App Store, and install it on your device.
2. Plug iRig PRE to the headphone connector.
3. Connect your mike into iRig PRE (turn on Phantom Power if you are using a condenser
microphone).

Using EZ Voice with iRig Mic HD

1. Download EZ Voice from the iTunes App Store, and install it on your device.
2. Connect your iRig Mic HD to your device with the 30-pin/Lightning connector.

Using EZ Voice with iRig PRO

Download EZ Voice from the iTunes App Store, and install it on your device.
Connect your iRig PRO to your device with the 30-pin/Lightning connector.
Connect your microphone to the XLR jack on the iRig PRO (turn on Phantom Power if you
are using a condenser microphone).

Now you are ready to launch your EZ Voice app and start creating your music.

WARNING: Permanent hearing loss may occur if earbuds or headphones are used
at high volume. You can adapt over time to a higher volume of sound, which may
sound normal but can be damaging to your hearing. Set your device volume to a
safe level before that happens. If you experience ringing in your ears, reduce the
volume or discontinue use of earbuds or headphones with your device.
Record
Record
Record yourself with no backing track or sing along with your music library.

Sing your solo performance


Tap on the Record button to start recording your voice. After a 4 beat pre-roll the recording will
start and you will see your recorded voice represented in real time as an accurate waveform on
your screen.

To stop recording, tap the record button again. You will then be able to listen to your performance
and add effects to it, save it or discard it and start over.

To add effects just tap on the FX button and you will enter the “FX” section where you can select
and tweak your favorite effects (for more info about the FX section see the “FX” chapter, below)

Sing with your favorite song


Import songs to sing along by tapping on the “+” button on the top left.
You will be given the choice to import from your Music Library or from iTunes File Sharing.

To import from your Music Library, just tap “Music Library”, search for your song and tap on the
plus (+) button to load that song in EZ Voice.

To get a song from iTunes File Sharing just add it in the EZ Voice section in iTunes file sharing
(be sure that your device is connected to your computer) and sync. To reach the File Sharing
section open iTunes, select your device in the top bar, select “Apps” and scroll to the bottom of
the page. Now, to add the song, select the EZ Voice app icon and click on “Add…” or drag your
audio file into the EZ Voice Documents field.

After importing the song you will be able to preview it, remove the voice and sing along, record
your vocal performance with the song, or discard and start over.

Also you can access the FX section and add/tweak effects as you prefer. The sliders on the right
of the record button let you choose the start position in the imported song and its volume.

To enter the “Effects” section, just tap on the FX button at the bottom of the screen.

In the effects section you can activate three effects simultaneously by tapping on them and edit
effect parameters by double tapping on them. Dimmed effects are inactive and available as
purchases in the in-app store

The effects are divided into three “channel” slots that you can easily distinguish by color: blue,
green and yellow, and you can choose one effect from each slot (you cannot choose two effects
from the same channel slot).

Effect presets
EZ Voice lets you adjust effects setting and then save them so you can use them on other songs.
You can save your combinations of effects in a preset simply tapping on the “+” button on the top
bar. Enter the preset name and your new preset will be saved in the global presets list.

To see your global presets list where all factory and user presets are saved just tap on the List
icon on the top bar of the FX page. This section contains useful factory presets to give you an
idea of the power of EZ Voice, and any presets you have created.

Effects description
Let’s take a quick tour of all the included effects:

Tune
Select the key of the song by tapping the note of the keyboard over the diapason. Set the scale of
the song by tapping the button under the diapason.
Check on the diapason the amount of correction introduced by the Tune effect.

Morph
Move the cursor on the XY area to experiment strange modifications of your voice. Dragging up
and down elaborates the pitch while moving left and right works on formants morphing.

Choir
Set the key of the song tapping the note on the keyboard on the top of the page. Tap the Scale
button to switch between various scales and select the one that fits to your song.
You can enable or disable up to three voices by tapping on the 1, 2 or 3 icons.
To set the level of each voice just tap on the Voices Level button and drag the sliders of each
voice. Tap on the Voices Harm button and drag the sliders to set the harmonic interval of each
voice.

EQ
Refine the low, mid and high frequencies of your voice dragging the three cursors up or down.
The Level slider at the bottom lets you adjust the overall level.

Filter
Drag the cursor on the XY area to set frequency and resonance of this Low Pass filter. Use the
level slider to adjust the overall level of your voice.

Level
Drag the comp slider to compress your voice more or less. Set the output slider to set the output
gain of the compressor.

Chorus
Tweak the chorus depth pinching vertically and change the rate with a horizontally pinch.
Dragging the mix slider sets the amount of the Chorus effect.

Delay
This Delay can be easily synchronized with the tempo of the imported song by tapping the Sync
button. When Sync is active you will be able to choose between different time divisions dragging
on the central circle and tapping on the button on the bottom right of the page. When not in sync
mode time can be set freely dragging on the central circle (values in milliseconds are shown in
the circle on the bottom right). Tap the feedback lines to set the feedback value of the Delay. The
mix slider set the amount of Delay.

Reverb
Select the type of reverb you prefer tapping on the three circles at the bottom of the page and
pinch the size icon to give size to your reverb.
The mix slider sets Reverb wet and dry.

Song
Song
The Song section is where all of your recordings are stored. The Edit function on the top right
corner lets you duplicate or delete a performance. To preview a song just hit the play button and
drag the sliders to skip within the song or set the overall volume.

You can always adjust the effects of a song just selecting that song and tapping on the FX button
on the bottom. The new settings will be saved automatically.

When the sound of your performance is at its best … it’s time to share it with your friends! Tap the
Share button and choose between exporting though iTunes File Sharing, posting on
SoundCloud or sending via email.
Menu
Menu
In the global Menu you can register your app, purchase add-ons, tweak global settings and more.
To enter the global Menu hit the Menu label on the top right corner of the interface.

Account

Tap the ACCOUNT button to register the EZ Voice app or an IK Multimedia accessory.

A User Registration page will appear. Choose “Existing account” if you have already an IK
Multimedia account. Choose “New account” if you have never registered an IK Multimedia
product before.

Note: This does not refer to your iTunes account. This is your IK Multimedia user account.

Enter the User Name and Password of your IK Multimedia user account on the IK Multimedia
web site, and tap Register. If you have lost your password, tap “Forgot password?”, submit your
email address and a new password will be sent to your registered E-mail account.

Create a new account

If you don’t have an IK Multimedia user account, tap “New Account” to create a new one. You can
access the New User Account page from the initial User Registration pop-up message or from
the Existing Account page.
When the New User Account page opens, read the Privacy Agreement, enter your details (first
name, last name, E-mail, country and phone) and tap Register to create your IK Multimedia
account.
If you need further help with the registration process, just tap the “?” button.

Store

This is the in-app Store where you can purchase new effects for EZ Voice. Here you can also
find out about all IK Multimedia accessories and apps.

Settings

Access this section by tapping the Settings button in the global Menu, and then select the
relevant menu:

Input, Output level


This setting monitors and trims the input and output levels. Increase the input/output level by
moving the faders. Keep the fader below the point where the clipping LED starts to blink to avoid
clipping and hearing damage. To return to the default settings, just double-tap the faders. The
levels are set to 0dB by default.

Input channel
Tap on the channel number to select the Input channel (works for multichannel audio interfaces).

Latency
Set to Ultra Low for minimum delay between what you play and what you hear. Set to Low if you
hear clicks or pops.

No Feedback
Enable to avoid feddback when using headphone and high-gain effects

Auto Sleep
Enable this to save battery life during long sessions. Disable it of you hear clicks or pops.

Background Audio
Enable this to allow the audio output from EZ Voice to continue when the app is running in
background.

Factory Presets
Restore Factory Presets

SoundCloud Upload
Enter SoundCloud username and password and enable SoundCloud sharing

EZ Voice is Audiobus compatible.


Audiobus is an app (developed by A Tasty Pixel in cooperation with Audanika) that allows you to
connect the audio signal of different apps, opening up countless new sonic possibilities.

Audiobus lets you send the audio out of one app, filter it through the next one in the chain, and
receive it in the third. The possible combinations are endless.

In Audiobus you can use EZ Voice in each slot: record your performance and make it your audio
source, just filter the audio from another app with EZ Voice effects or record other apps that
support Audiobus with the internal recorder. There are currently over 60 apps that supporting
Audiobus from premium music manufacturers like Korg, Steinberg, Moog, Propellerhead, and
many others, covering the widest range of music applications: from synths and instruments to
multitrack recorders and full comprehensive studios, from realtime effects to loopers and much
more.

To enable this feature and have EZ Voice work with other compatible Audiobus app, Audiobus
must be purchased separately on the App Store and installed on your iPhone, iPad or iPod
