Dear Sir,
Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (INPT) is developing a port-based ru j-product Special Economic
Zone (SEZ) on 277 ha inthe port area at Uran taluka, The formal approval for SEZ was received on 16th
july 2014 (Annex 2) and SEZ notification was issued on 21th August 2014 (Annex 2) by the Ministry of
Commerce and Industry, Govt. of India. The SEZ approval stands valid till July 15, 2017 have obtained
ertension tl 16" July 2038 from the Ministry of Commerce and industries Govt of India.

December, 2014 (Annex 3) have granted the Environment clearance in its 77 meeting for the
Development of Port based Multi-Product SEZ at JNPT.
temay be noted that JNPT is the developer ofthe SEZ and isin the fast prossls of developing the
basic infrastructure of the SEZ on EPC made to complete by December 2018. The total land notified is
about 277 Hectares. The land details with survey numbers and drawings are provided in the (Annex 4) of
this letter.
JNPT feels that that in view of the speedy completion of the project and to create substantial
demand ofthe project itis necessary include additional lst of Industries and render better marketability
ofthe SEZ project to create huge employment and investment in the project across the globe,
rurther thelist of additional industries and operations that have been identified by the interested
potential investors IS given below:
«Food processing: Sugar refining, Sugar, Flour mills (excluding Domestic Aatt® Chak),
Malted food, Food including fruits and vegetable processing.

Engineering, Auto & Electrical: Electroplating, Galvanizing, Industry or process involving
metal treatment or process such as pickling, surface coating, paint baking, paint stripping,
heat treatment, phosphating or finishing, iron and steel (involving processing from
ore/scrap/integrated steel plants)
Pharmaceutical: Pharmaceuticals formulation
Paints: Synthetic resins, Paints & varnishes, Dye & Dye-intermediates, Pigments and
intermediates,
Lube: Lubricating oils, greases or petroleum - based products.
Textiles: Synthetic fiber including rayon, tyre cord, polyester filament yarn, Surgical and
‘medical products involving prophylactics and latex, Yarn and textile processing involving
scouring, bleaching, dyeing, printing or any effluent/emission generating process,
Industry or process involving foundry operations, Cotton spinning and weaving,
Tyres: Tyres and tubes Vulcanization/retreading/mounding

proposing this SEZ allocating land parcels to prospective clients. It is clearly known fact that those
Individual industry/product which fall under the EIA notification dated 14 September 2006 and its
amendments, they will individually obtain separate environment clearances. JNPT kindly request you to
grant the amendment of additional type of products in the existing Environment Clearance which will
certainly boost the economy of the state of Maharashtra,
In view of above, JNPT feels that these above additional industries being incorporated in existing,
Environmental Clearance as an amendment in it. Also the industries, who will be allocated land to set up
their industries in the SEZ, if mandatory, will apply separately for individual Environmental Clearances.
Therefore, INPT kindly request to include our amendment application in the forthcoming meeting
of SEAC | and grant the necessary clearance.
