Hello families!

My name is Mackenzie Anderson, and I will be student teaching in your child’s

classroom for about 8 weeks. I am so excited to be able to get to know your child as well
as learn and teach with Ms. Artz.

A little about me:

I am 26 years old and am engaged to my fiancé Sheldon. We
have an 18-month-old son named Lincoln. I am originally from
DeWitt, Michigan, up by Lansing. Outside of school and
teaching, I like to read, spend time with my family, and travel.

My background: I graduated
from Grand Valley State
University with my bachelor’s
degree in comprehensive science
and arts for teaching. I then went
on to get my master’s in special
education from Ashford
University. I am now finishing
up with my master’s in early
childhood education from Grand
Canyon University. I have many
years of experience working
with children. Through college I nannied for a few
different families including those with disabilities. I did
tutor some children, as well as worked alongside a few
ABA and occupational therapists for a child with Autism.
I taught pre-k for a year while I lived in Charleston, South
Carolina. We then moved back home to Michigan to be
closer to family. Then I was a lead infant teacher at a daycare center for 8 months before
COVID. I decided to take my maternity leave a few months before our son was born. I
didn’t go back to work until my son was 10 months old. I now currently teach early
preschool, which is 2.5-3-year-old children.
I am so excited to meet you and your child. If you have any questions, please feel free to
reach out. My email is: Andermac@mail.gvsu.edu

Thanks so much,
Mackenzie Anderson
