REGRAS – SIMPLE PAST TENSE OF OTHER VERBS (sem ser o ‘to be’):

Para construir afirmativas: acrescentar ed (verbos regulares) ou forma própria


(verbos irregulares)Para construir negativas: basta colocar o verbo auxiliares did
+ not (= didn’t) entre o sujeito e o verbo (ANTES do verbo). Para construir
interrogativas: basta colocar o auxiliar did antes do sujeito no início da
sentença.
Obs.: Quando o auxiliar did for utilizado para construir as sentenças negativas e
interrogativas, os verbos voltarão para a sua forma normal do infinitivo (sem o ed
e sem a forma irregular do passado).

DID/DIDN’T (I, you, he, she, it, we, they)

SIMPLE PAST TENSE

1. Aff: She played the piano. (Ela tocou piano)


Neg: She didn’t play the piano.
Int.: Did she play the piano?

2. Aff: You spoke to me in English. (Você falou comigo em inglês) ==== to speak
(falar)
Neg: You didn’t speak to me in English.
Int.: Did you speak to me in English?

3. Aff: Anna studied at Fatec. (Anna estudou na Fatec)


Neg: Anna didn’t study at Fatec.
Int.: Did Anna study at Fatec?

4. Aff: They went to São José yesterday. (Eles foram para São José ontem) == to go
(ir)
Neg: They didn’t go to São José yesterday.
Int.: Did they go to São José yesterday?
