1. What does this picture tell you about the Philippine situation?

 The image depicts one of the Philippines' most serious problems which is poverty. It
illustrates the difficulties of the people who live in that area, as well as the risk they
face on a daily basis because their homes are directly beside the rails of the train.

2. What feelings and thoughts came to your mind when you first saw this picture?

 Filipinos have a right to have a decent like the citizens in other countries but they
can't have that kind of life because unlike other countries, the government and the
business owners in this country doesn't give that much importance to the people.
Some of them are only concerned with their own well-being and wealth.

3. Do you think the business industry is partially responsible for this condition? Why or
why not?

 Yes. Businesses are both a driving factor and a significant benefactor of world

economy. However, some of big businesses are responsible for the current problems
ranging from deforestation to child labor. If development projects fail and
globalization further devaluing the world's poorest people, companies must bear some
of the burden. Businesses must be a part of the solution on the world's problems, yet
other corporations seem to worsen the situation.

4. Think of concrete ways for businesspersons and business professionals to address the
problem conveyed by the picture.

 First, companies may donate profits to charity programs. Second, they can lower their
prices. And third, they can hire more people. Finally, firms may prioritize
their employees development by paying them more or providing them with training or
support.
