PC Datacom on the Shipping PC


DataQuery
Sign on to a mainframe terminal. You must use a query, not a dialog. Query is SELL-THRU-Q. Edit the query and
update it.

Make ARIES resident


Go to the PC at Jo Searfoss’ desk
Exit out of the warehouse menu, if necessary
Once you are at a DOS prompt, switch to C:.
CD\ADR\DATACOM
E78/R
Sign on as far as the DQRY signon screen, but DO NOT ENTER YOUR ID
Press both SHIFT keys simultaneously to flip back over to DOS.
IPCLINK DATACOM (this starts PC DATACOM)

CREATE A QUERY DEFINITION ON PC DATACOM


Put cursor on DB1KAC <enter>
Put cursor on DOWNLOADING <enter>
Enter the ID and password you normally use to sign on to DataQuery
DEFINE <enter>
AUTOMATIC <enter>
DEFAULT <enter>
LIST <enter>
Type the query name if you know it
(Arrow to public/private <enter>)
(Select query <enter>)
View query y/n (this is up to you)
Select Y to use query
Make up a new filename for the output. The description is optional.

EXECUTE THE QUERY DEFINITION


EXECUTE <enter>
Select the query definition you just created
Press <enter> when the screen says ‘99999 records found’

EXIT PC DATACOM
Exit out by hitting ESC and answering the questions until you get to a DOS prompt.

COPY THE FILE


CD\ADR\DATACOM\DB1KAC
Your file will look like *.DTA. Copy it to A: by typing COPY XXXXXXXX.DTA A:
