Prose: Fables

Grade level: 6

Activity: Story Telling (Flash Cards)

Materials:

¼ Illustration board (4 pieces)

Coloring materials

Pentel pen

Manila paper (for copy questions)

A piece of paper (for students)

Pencil

The students will be asked to sit in silence to listen to a story for them to be able to answer some
questions after.

STORY: Si Dagang Bukid at si Dagang Bayan

Procedure:

 The teacher will read the fable with moderate voice so that the students will be able to
understand the story.
 While reading the story, the teacher is advised to show the flash cards at the same time.
 After reading the story, the teacher will then ask the students if they were able to understand
the story.
 The students will be asked what did they learn about the story.
 The teacher will conduct a short quiz.
1. What characteristics does Dagang Bukid and Dagang Bayan have?
2. If you are Dagang Bukid, what will you do to your friend Dagang Bayan?
3. What life lesson did you learn from the story?
 All students will now answer the questions and will be advised to share their answers in front of
their classmates.

 After the short quiz, all students will be asked if they truly understood the story. This shows the
significance of reading stories specifically, Fables, in learning about life lessons.
