Before I start, The honorable Mrs. Nurul Handayani S.Pd., M.Pd. as our lecturer. First, I will
introduce myself ,my name is Febriana Marwah Chaerani , I am a law student at Islamic State
University of Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.
The socio-economic and human rights crises spawned by the pandemic have exacerbated
inequalities, undermining development gains, public trust and confidence in institutions, as
well as overall progress towards the achievement of the SDGs.
The economic impact of the COVID-19 crisis differs across regions. Regional economic
specialisation in sectors directly or indirectly exposed to the crisis and participation in global
value chains have amplified the impact of the crisis, especially in regions with a high share of
SMEs
This provides a picture of the problem of handling COVID-19 in Indonesia, a problem that has
not been overcome. That is why, it is necessary to see in terms of law and human rights, how
the actual status of emergency law is used in order to make effective handling of Covid-19 in
Indonesia
To anticipate the spreading of COVID-19 pandemic, the President of the Republic of Indonesia
has issued several regulations. The Author has examined that the main laws that were used
as the based for the issuance of those regulations are Law No.6 Year 2018 regarding Health
Quarantine (the Health Quarantine Law).
