(TINGKAT PERBANDINGAN)

Comparison Degree (Tingkat perbandingan) artinya membandingkan suatu

benda/orang/hewan/tumbuhan berdasarkan sifat, ukuran, harga dan lain-lain.

Comparison Degree terbagi menjadi 3, yaitu Positive Degree, Comparative Degree, dan

Superlative Degree.

Ani is as tall as Nina.

POSITIVE DEGREE (SAMA / SETARA) EXAMPLE

Membandingkan keadaan /sifat suatu benda/ orang/ as smart as

hewan yang memiliki keadaan / sifat yang sama as big as

  as long as

NOUN + IS + AS + ADJECTIVE + AS + NOUN Ani is as smart as Nina.

Ani is as diligent as Nina

 Beni is taller than Ani

Beni lebih tinggi daripada Ani

COMPARATIVE DEGREE (LEBIH) EXAMPLE

Membandingkan 2 benda /orang/hewan yang memiliki keadaan/sifat yang berbeda.

Untuk kata sifat (adjective) yang terdiri dari 1-2 Small  smaller

suku kata , ditambah –er Long  longer

Smart  smarter

NOUN + IS + ADJECTIVE + ER + THAN + NOUN Ani is smarter than Nina

Untuk kata sifat (adjective) yang terdiri lebih dari Beautiful  more beautiful

2 suku kata ( more + adjective) Diligent  more diligent
