Recognization of vehicle number plate using matlab

ABSTRACT

This project is about the detection of moving vehicle number plates

using image processing techniques normally we have a person looking
at the number plates ,trying to extract the number from the photos
clicked by the traffic police ,but using software programs like MATLAB
makes the whole process faster and efficient

The photos clicked by the traffic police are fed into the program and the
vehicle number are extracted by segmentation process and stored
Optical character .

Recognisation is used to identify the characters .then a mail containing

the violation and details of the fine are sent to car owners mail-id using
SMTP. This saves a lot of time and human effort
