Mindset
Positive psychology offers a lot of ways to enhance and develop a positive self-
belief system and why this is important for happiness, balance and success. Dr.
Carol Dweck’s research suggests that healthy robust learners have a ‘growth
mindset’. Developing a growth mindset involves neutralising beliefs that block
growth and embracing the idea that success is a result of effort and not based on
talent, luck or dna. Replace ‘I can’t’ with ‘I can’t yet!’
Try the Mindset questionnaire: where you score low, look at the next box on
the right and ask how you can achieve it.
MISTAKES/ERRORS
… contain valuable information and not something to try and avoid
Replace judgement with observation
OPINIONS of others
Observe how others’ opinions affect you and practice relying on your own
‘intrinsic’ feedback
