“Education is the key to success.

” I often hear this quote from my teachers and family,

specifically the elders. Maybe because they’ve already experienced life in different ways that led
them to the thought that education plays an integral part towards achieving success. But is it the
really the key?

Most of the people have this perception that only those who have finished a degree gets what
he/she wants in life. Graduate and you will get a job and be rich. That is how most of the people
see success. Personally, I believe that there are two types of person who does well in this world.
One who does good in school and those who do great in life. I also believe that experience is the
best teacher. There are a number of so-called successful people today that haven’t undergone
formal education. Life teaches them. It’s more of having that experience and determination in
order to achieve your goal.

I also disagree on the basis of success. Is having a thriving business a success? Having a name
and position in the community? Is it having a huge number of money? I believe no. Success
depends on the person. It is when that person reaches contentment. If you have a multimillion
worth company today and high-end cars, but still aims for more each day, then you are not yet
successful. On the other hand, even if you only work for a minimum wage and owns only a
bicycle, but you find it enough, then you are successful.

Each one of us is different. We dream differently. But the ideals in life define generally to those
who are on top. We are locked up into an idea that is not for everyone.
