Self-Assessment Question 4.1

1. Research title: Conductivity protocol for zinc (II) sulfate and lead (II) nitrate biosorption of M.
oleifera leaf biomass.
- The system can only be controlled using via switch which can only be manually turned on if the
owner is inside the house. The system cannot deactivate by itself and will remain activated
during power interruptions due to the batter used.
2. Research title: ABACA (MUSA TEXTILIS) STRIPPING WASTE IN WHITE OYSTER MUSHROOM
(PLEUROTUS OSTREATUS) CULTIVATION
- The researchers though will only study the time the mycelium and its fruit take to develop, the
number of spores that have successfully developed and its length, diameter and mass. The
experiment would last from three to five weeks depending on some variable factors like the
weather which may not ne possible to be controlled by the researchers’ current set of skills and
knowledge.

Your Task

Research title: Carolina Cayenne pepper (Capsicum annum) and Calamansi (Citrofortunella microcarpa)
peel extract as an alternative larvicide in mosquito control.

Scope: This study focused on decreasing the population of mosquitoes using Carolina cayenne pepper
and calamansi peel. The researcher will identify which of the concentrations would be more effective in
killing mosquito larvae. The mortality of the mosquito larvae will also be observed.

Delimitation: This project will only cover the feasibility of Carolina cayenne pepper and calamansi peel as
an alternative larvicide and the mortality of the mosquito larvae. There is no sophisticated equipment to
be used in the project, only a blender as an extracting equipment and a phone camera will be used in
observation and documentation.
