3.7.3 Reliability of Instruments

The study used inter-rater reliability method to ensure the reliability of the tools. The

researcher employed 5 trained research assistants to collect data from a random sample of 5

teachers in Ideal Secondary School in west region in Hargeisa. The inter-rater reliability

assessment returned the results in Table 4 for observation checklist.

Rater 4 .219

Rater 5

The inter-rater reliability returned a reliability coefficient of 2.437 which indicates the

items in the observation checklist are internally consistent, to the extent of ……. %. This was

also an acceptable being reliability index higher than 0.70. Therefore, the items in the

observation checklist produced consistent responses over time.
