Heavy Clutch Solutions

By Russell Moss

If you have a heavy clutch lever, try this:

- Just disconnect both ends of cable so removing leverage.
- The cable should move easily, like with 2 fingers push pull with zero drag.
- If not, the cable is seized in outer sheath.
- Try cleaning with carb or brakedisc cleaner sprayed into cable as its worked.
- If not better, replace it with a new cable.
- The levers are just pivot points really.
- Or cable is badly routed.
- The clutch springs, when changed for heavy duty, make it worse.
- The longer clutch actuator arm just gives greater leverage.
- Think of long and short length of wood one gives hard lift other easy.
- If you want to make the clutch easier anyway, please go to the file section
