How your proposed study relates to:

a) development issues at the global, national and local
levels?
b) development issues connected to your chosen CSC
theme and the wider sector?

Development Impact Part 1:

We are currently in the middle of a technological and computing

revolution that will drastically change lives and potentially
redefine what It means to be a human. I am very excited at the
prospect of dedicating my long-term career to such a dynamic,
fast-advancing field. The objective is that computers developing
technology need a more efficient system. In a short time, it
changed the way we see things for centuries. Therefore, I would
like to use a Master of Science in Computer Science as my major.
Interest in my computer dates back to the early stages of my
school days.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

As we all know, science is on the cusp of breaking through to the

next level of plasmonic communication systems and on-chip
nanotechnologies, which will significantly alter people's lives and
maybe redefine human society. I'm ecstatic about the thought of
committing my long-term career to such a vibrant, rapidly
evolving area. The goal is to develop a more efficient on-chip
nano-system for communication technologies. It will affect the
way we perceive things for millennia in a short period of time. As a
result, I'd like to pursue a Ph. D. in plasmonic communication
technology. My fascination in engineering stretches back to my
elementary school years. I've always fantasized of a technologically
advanced civilization. I totally commit to the dream I've always
had.

2. How you intend to apply your new skills and

qualification when you return home?

Development Impact Part 2:

After graduating, I will return to Pakistan, where I will apply all

these gain educational and societal things in Pakistan, which I will
learn in the UK. I plan to take what I learn in the UK and apply It
to the computing industry in my native country. In Pakistan,
society is not much aware of that computer science students live
happily and independently. I believe in serving humanity and have
goals to create awareness among people to make them aware that
we can also earn from the computer. I want to make them that we
can make our lives. We, as a computer science student, I have to
educate other generations, especially girls about the impact of
computer science in my country, I want someone to look at me
and say because of you I didn’t give up.
3. What you expect will change in development terms
following your studies, including:

a) the outcomes that you aim to achieve?

b) the timeframe for their implementation?

c) who the beneficiaries will be?

Development Impact Part 3:

Pursuing my keen interest in Computer Science has, over the

years, enabled me to develop keen logical and reasoning skills.
This industry is rapidly growing and shows great potential, yet
compared to other, more advanced countries is still in its relative
infancy. By studying in your master’s program and possibly
working for a short period in the UK, I expect to have the
expertise, the perspective, and the experience necessary it led our
industry to a new era. I also have friends with similar goals, and I
hope that we can one day collaborate to put our country on the
map as an innovative force in the computing world.

4. How could the impact of your work be best measured?

Development Impact Part 4:

As a developer, we know our work has an impact. We see the
power of programming in every aspect of our lives. But not
everyone can connect the dots between programming and
business growth. It is up to us, as developers, to help tell our own
success stories. When we’re able to demonstrate the value of our
work, the developers become a critical contributor to everyone’s
lives. We can advocate for bigger developer teams, higher salaries,
and more software systems.

b) development issues connected to your chosen CSC theme and the wider sector?
(200 words)

"Despite preserving colossal renewable assets, 80% of Pakistan's power generation comes
from nonrenewable fuels. Generating energy from fuel-based sources, however, poses its
perils. For example, the voluminous industrial pollution from thermal plants has significantly
deteriorated the urban air-quality seven times greater than the WHO prescribed levels,
causing 22,000 premature deaths and hospitalizing 6.5 million people annually (Asian
Development Bank, 2008). The stagnant evolution of renewable technology in Pakistan is
partly due to the dire deficiency of the relevant field expertise. The cognizance of these
grave issues has motivated me to pursue the renewable energy field as a postgraduate
specialization.

It is unlikely that a community can advance in the scientific and technological realm without
a well-developed energy infrastructure. For this reason, Pakistan also is actively striving to
establish a stable energy foundation that will furnish it with the requisite potential for
scientific advancement. Renewable energy promotes the sustainable approach of power
production that is non-depleting, clean, and affordable. In addition, renewable power
encourages the accelerated progress of energy sector development by solving problems
including electricity deprivation, environmental contamination due to industrial exhaust, and
predominant reliance on imported fuel to drive power plants."

How the impact of your work might be measured

A country's development is the direct result of the capacity of its institutions to perform
effectively which in turn depends on the quality of the human resource working there and
the related policies that govern these institutions. Unfortunately, in almost all sectors of
Pakistan the infrastructure development is given priority over the human resource
development and the negligence of the public policy makers in this regard exacerbates this
situation. Policy makers have failed to make the vocational training part of the curriculum
and combine the formal education with the skill development.

Pakistan has the highest youth population after Afghanistan in South Asia and ranks second
lowest in South Asia for Commonwealth YDI 2017. According to another report Pakistan
ranks 164th out of 195 countries for its quality of human capital. This is one of the main
reasons that unemployment of youth in Pakistan is higher than other South Asian countries
except Sri-Lanka.

I have rich experience in HRD and now I plan to study Master of Public Administration; this
course focuses on developing consummate public policy makers in the ever changing
business environment. This course will expose me to policy making practices in the UK and
will help me understand how organizations work and how employees perceive their work
environment. This course will help me to not only cope with the current challenges related to
human resources in the state institutions through effective policy making but will also
prepare me to handle future challenges such as the "laying off the human resources". As a
student in UK I will also get the chance to observe and understand the structure and
implementation techniques of professional development programs for students, which I can
replicate in Pakistan.

After this course I plan to return to Pakistan and serve my country by joining the Planning
and Development Department which is the central agency which sets the strategic policies
for the HRD and monitors its implementation in Pakistan. In this role I will be able to derive
strategies to bring behavioral changes in employees on micro level and policy changes on
macro level using psychological tools of positive and negative reinforcement. Through
effective policy making based on scientific research, I will be able to solve the issues such
as misuse of authority, early leaving and procrastination of work, misbehaving with public
and commonplace involvement in grafting in organizations of Pakistan.

My final anticipated outcome is to use my experience related to HR and exposure of policy

making in UK to improve human capital output in the public sector organization. I would also
design professional development programs and collaborate with universities to introduce
these in the courses to fill the gap between the current skills the youth has and skills
required in the future by the organizations.

As per my career plan I have no doubt that I will be able to make an initial impact within Ten
years and this impact can be measured by the improved human resource output in the
target government institutions.
