Hello I am muhamad Ibrohim.

I would like to share my experience about vocabulary tools that I have

tried to use. There are five vocabulary tools that I have tried, is that Voice of America (VOA),
Lingro.com, Internet search, Corpus of Contemporary American English (COCA), Spell Checker, .
The first that I open is voice of America (VOA), this was amazing vocabulary tools because I can learn
new word by myself and I can choose the word that I want to learn. There are many word inside and
explanation about the word, how the word is using, what the meaning of the word or something more.
My insight about these vocabulary tools are really useful for teaching vocabulary with the instruction.

Vocabulary is really important, Professor James Ranalli said that without grammar, little can be
conveyed. Without vocabulary, nothing can conveyed. It’s mean that the vocabulary has vital position in
language. By using these vocabulary tools, it can help the students learn vocabulary widely without any
troubles. They do not worry about how to use this word in conversation. The vocabulary tools above
have explain all about that. In my opinion I will use News Words (VOA) and Lingro.com for my teaching. I
will combine both of it during vocabulary lesson, the first I ask the student to open the VOA and search
the News word that they want to learn and after that I ask them to seek the news about the topic they
open on VOA and open it on Lingro.com, so they can learn lot of vocabulary by using these tools.

Sometimes I learn vocabulary by using U-dictionary, lexico.com/grammar/commonly-confused-words,

and https://www.ted.com/talks. I would rather using ted.com even It is more comfortable for listening
but I think it can be vocabulary tools too. In ted.com there is a transcript for us to catch the speaker
speech, so by this transcript I find many new vocabulary inside. Actually these tools, even it is listening
tools, depend on how we utilize the tools maximally, thus they will be more useful for learners and
teaching.
