HADITH # 7

It is said: o messenger of Allah,

who is the most excellent of men?
The messenger of Allah said: ‘The
believer who strives hard in the
way of Allah with his person and
his property.

Title : Importance of jihad

This hadith highlights :
▪ What makes a person excellent
❖ It is striving hard in the way of Allah
▪ Two types of Jihad are mentioned
✔ Jihad with one’s property
✔ jihad with one’s person
▪ Quran says; “And whatsoever you spend of
any thing (in Allah’s cause) He will replace
it.” (34 : 39)

▪ The purpose of such a struggle is :

✔ To establish society based on right moral

principles

✔ To establish peace and stop aggression

against Islam
Part a: What do Muslims believe?

▪ Jihad is a meritorious act

▪ Great reward is promised
✔ who fight
✔ spend in the way of Allah
✔ Sins will be forgiven
✔ Enhance the provisions
✔ Grant him best recompense
Part b: How do Muslims put these teachings
into action? [2]
This Hadith tells that :
▪ Whenever Muslims are attacked (fighting
in the way of Allah)

✔ their lives, property, homes and

everything else is in danger
✔ It becomes their duty to wage jihad
✔ Bring peace and end aggression. The
Prophet(SAW) said, “Fire will not touch
a foot which trod in the path of Allah.”
A person may also perform jihad with wealth

✔ Spending wealth for social cause and

welfare

✔ For spread of Islam

✔ Eradicating ignorance

✔ Supplying arms and ammunition to the

warriors who fight in the way of Allah
Effects:-

❖ Islam will spread

❖ Peace will establish and aggression will come

to an end

❖ Society based on right moral principles will

develop

❖ Ensure entrance in Jannah
