How does asexual propagation differ from sexual propagation?

-The floral parts of a plant are used in sexual propagation. Taking a piece of one parent plant and
causing it to regenerate into a new plant is known as asexual propagation. The new plant that emerges
is genetically identical to its parent. The vegetative parts of a plant, such as stems, roots, or leaves, are
used in asexual propagation.

What are the specialized plant parts that are used in propagation?
- roots, stems, shoot buds, and leaves
List 4 environmental factors which are important in helping cuttings to develop roots.
- Environmental factors such as water availability, light, temperature, and rooting material can all
influence the root initiation process in cuttings.

Generalization
-Asexual propagation, also known as vegetative propagation, is the process of causing plant vegetative
parts (stems, roots, and/or leaves) to regenerate into a new plant or, in some cases, several plants. The
resulting plant is genetically identical to the parent plant, with a few exceptions.
