Prob 1 (10 points): The circuit above has two flip flops, an input I and an output Z. Can you
design a self-initializing test sequence for the circuit above for the fault Z stuck-at-0 or say that
none exists ? You may use the figures below to derive your answer.

Input sequence (I) =

Corresponding output (Z) =

Prob 2 (8 points): You are to perform parallel fault simulation for the fault set {line c stuck-at-
1, line d stuck-at-0, line f stuck-at-1, line i stuck-at-1}. Use a 5-bit word to perform parallel fault
simulation with the input vector [abcd]=[1101]. Write down the I, S and Z vectors for each line
after fault injection. Assume that each word represents the faults [line c stuck-at-1, line d stuck-
at-0, line f stuck-at-1, line i stuck-at-1, fault-free] (in that order). Which faults are detected by the
test vector ? Use following template to work the problem.

Prob 3 (7 points):

For the above circuit, starting with the input assignments abcd = xxxx, show a possible sequence
of PODEM objectives and corresponding assignment of the inputs abcd and D-Frontiers that
either leads to a test for the fault line i stuck-at-1 or proves that the fault is redundant. Note that
such problems may have multiple “correct” solutions. After each input assignment write down
the D-Frontier (DF). If the DF is NULL, write DF=NULL. Indicate the derived TEST vector.

leads to a test for the fault line g stuck-at-1 or proves that the fault is redundant. Note that such
problems may have multiple “correct” solutions. After each input assignment write down the D-
Frontier (DF). If the DF is NULL, write DF=NULL.
