Case Study on Employee Discipline

Company policy states that employees will be given two 15 minutes

break periods a day, one in the morning and another in the afternoon.
The employees in Department A routinely spend their breaks to 20
minutes, sometimes 25 with no apparent criticism from their boss.

If you are the supervisor of Department A, can you discipline your

employees if they come back from a break period , 5 or 10 minutes
late?

Is it right for you as a Manager of one department to strictly enforce

a policy that other supervisors routinely ignore?

What would you comment if you were the employee?
