New Normal for Tourim Industry

In the last three months, the travel and tourism industry in most parts of the world has
come to an almost complete halt. Three months later, we are now faced with the new task of moving
away from the shock of what was to create a world of what was to be. It is now time for all of our jobs to
find ways for the travel and tourism industry to be reborn. In the immediate future this process of
renewal means that tourism leaders, both in the public and private sectors, will have to accept the fact
that our world has changed and they will have to find new and creative ways to go from a near-total
stoppage of tourism to a pause and then from pause to renew.

As a student, assuming that I am working in a travel agency as a travel agent there are lots
of ideas I have in my mind to strengthen and improve tourism. Here are some one those ideas. Since
social media and sites are widely used, all the transactions will happen there. There will be no face to
face interaction with your clients. We are going to use video meetings to assess what our customers
would love and what our agency could offer. As the travel agent Provide up-to-date and accurate
information to people traveling across borders make sure that they know what restrictions might still be
in place. Remember that travel restrictions can change almost instantaneously. The giving of yesterday's
information not only means that your guests are at risk but you will lose their trust for years to come.
Remember that the tourism industry, like the human body, is made up of multiple components, and
when one falls ill, the whole system becomes ill. The tourism sector has always been so fragmented that
there are no centralizing forces. For example, safety should cover all aspects of travel from the time the
passenger leaves home until he / she returns home. That means just to name a few: taxi services, parking
garages, air and seaport terminals, transport hubs, gas stations , restaurants and lodging venues have to
work in concert. The creation of such inter-component industry collaboration will not be easy, but
unless new protocols are developed at the micro, and macro levels, the industry will move from one
crisis to another.

The travel and tourism industry is dynamic and has the capacity to turn the "what-was" into a
new "what-will be" As with the mythical Phoenix bird found in Greek folklore, tourism, too, has the
capacity to rise from its economic ashes and to create a whole new and exciting industry.
