Deliver products in original factory packaging bearing identification of product, manufacturer, and batch number. Provide Material Safety Data Sheets for each product. B. Store products in location protected from freezing, damage, construction activity, precipitation, and direct sunlight in strict accordance with manufacturer's recommendations. ©. Condition products to approximately 60 to 70 degrees F for use in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations. D. Handle all products with appropriate precautions and care as stated on Material Safety Data ‘Sheet. 4.06 PROJECT CONDITIONS A. Donnot use products under conditions of precipitation or freezing weather. Fluid-Applied Waterproofing: Clear, transparent, single-component, liquid applied moisture ‘curing urethane compiying with ASTM C 836; spray as required for application, cured Bropertes as follows: Shore 00 hardness: 85, per ASTM C 836. 2 Elongation: 600 percent, pet ASTM D 472, Tensile Strength: 150 psi plus or minus 5 psi, per ASTM D 412. 100 Percent Modulus: 80 psi plus or minus 5 psi, per ASTM D 412. PART 3 EXECUTION 3.01 EXAMINATION ‘A. Inspect areas involved in work to establish extent of work, access, and need for protection of surrounding construction. B. Protect surroundings from primers, patching repair compounds, and waterproofing products, inoluding, but not limited to, windows, roofs, walkways, drives, automobiles, and landscaping. C. Conduct all preapplication inspections of site verification with an authorized manufacturer's representative. 3.02 PREPARATION ‘A. Inspect expansion joints to ensure no deteriorated sealant, adhesion loss, or non-elastomeric caiks installed in joints. Repair deficient sealant or calk with slope grade sealant. B, Inspect through-deck penetrations, including electrical, lighting, signage, plumbing, HVAC, ‘and fire sprinkler piping for watertight seal. Repair deficiencies with slope grade sealant. ©. Surface Preparation - Concrete Block 4. Ensure substrate is clean. 2. Form sealant cant into comer at junction of all horizontal and vertical surfaces (wall : sections, curbs, or columns) by priming. Lay 1/4 inch closed-cell backer rod in corner i and apply 1 inch diameter bead of slope grade sealant. Tool to 45 degree cant. Allow ; sealant to cure. | 2. Apply masking tape to vertical sections at appropriate height above seaiant cant to provide clean termination at level of wearing slab intersection. Allow for perimeter and isolation joints as shown on drawings. Prime and apply 60 wet mils of waterproofing over treated cant up to masking tape and 4 inches onto deck surface. 3. Install 0.050 inch thick uncured commercial-grade neoprene sheet flas appropriate substitute, at locations of potential high movement, such as wall and slab intersections that are not structurally connected. i E. Gomplete all preparatory work before application begins. 3.03 APPLICATION ‘A. Apply grade of fluid-applied waterproofing to meet job requirements as follows: 1. HLM 5000S for spray application, B. Mark off areas of 125 square feet on horizontal applications, C. Apply one 5 gallon pail per 125 square feet, 25 square feet per gallon. 1. Spread immediately to ensure workability. Repeat procedure until entire surface is covered. 2. Verify applied thickness of 60 wet mils with wet mil gauge as work progresses. D. Allow to cure 48 hours at 70 degrees F and 50 percent relative humidity. Extend curing time at lower temperatures and relative humidity, E. Dam entire deck area on horizontal surfaces to verify integrity of cured membrane by ‘flooding with water to minimum depth of 2 inches. Allow water to stand for 24 to 48 hours. Make visual inspection of bottom deck surface to check for any water penetration. Drain area and allow to dry if repairs are necessary. Reapply waterproofing to correct deficiencies. Test area again for membrane integrity. F. Protect waterproofing from tratfic before placement of protection board and topping. Install {tightly butted protection board minimum 1/8 inch thick as soon as possible. 3.04 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL ‘A. Final Inpeation aod Warrenty Approval by Manufacturer's Representative Inspect finished surface preparation, application, and finished waterproofing and require further preparation or application to achieve appropriate result, 2. Inno case will manufacturer's representative approve surface or finish if the following conditions are found: pinholes, insufficient waterproofing thickness, or any other conditions which, in manufacturer's representative's opinion, may cause failure of installation. 3.05 CLEANING ‘A, Remove wet waterproofing, primer, and sealant products from tools and equipment with solvent such as xylene, toluene, or MEK. Remove dried materials mechanically. B. Clean up and properly dispose of all debris remaining on job site related to application.
