Scope: This document covers the working procedure for concreting works forall the foundation, trenches, structures, buildifigs, equipment foundations, walls, manholes, catch basin, ete. Personnel involved in the work shall be brief about job Fequirements, TBT (Tool box talk) shall be'conducted by job stipervisor and weekly toolbox meeting shall be conducted by respective area in charge. 6.0 — Methodology: 6.1 Anti-Termite Treatment: Antistermite treatment of soil will be done for the protection of buildings against, attack by subterranean termites, Materials: Chloropyrifos, Heptachlor, Chlordane or equivalent Govt. approved material shall be used for Anti- termite treatment, Lab test certificate will be available with anti-termite materials, Applicatio ‘Thesanti-termite treatment shall be carried out by licensed.& approved agency. Sub-Grade Preparation: Prior io start of chemical treatment, areas shall be rade free from logs, stumps, timber off cuts, leveling pegs, roots of plantstrees ete. Soil treatment will start when foundation treanches/pits are ready to:take conerete/masonry in:foundations & shall continue when plinth area is reaily'for laying thie sub-grade.. During rain or the sub soil water level is at same level or at higher level anti-termite {reatment'shall not be carried out: Chemical treatment will be done at soil dry conditions. ‘Treatment of soil Along External Perimeter of Building: After completion of building, work the earth. along the extemal perimeter of the walls shall be rodded at intervals of 150mm and to depth of 300min: The rod shall be moved’backward & forward parallel to the, wall to break up the earth and chemical emulsion poured along the wall. C2 Pee 3013 by BSPL Project Viramgam Terminal moceouacronnenroncencorcere = SHOT CEMENT ‘Treatment of Foundation: Up 10 300 inm deep from bottom surface & sides of excavated pits/trenches for foundations & plinth beams, shall be treated with chemical emulsion, After building of masonry substructure emulsion treatment will be done on both sides. The emulsion shall be directed towards'the masonry surfaces so that soil in contact with these surfaces is well treated with chemical. Afte iment soil shall be compacted back. ‘Treatment of Plinth/Basement and Apron: Below the.ground floor slab.& the peripheral apton up to 750 mm width, earth below:the basement slab and the sides of basement excavation shall be treated with chemical emulsion. 50-70 mim deep and 150.mm both ways shall be male on the suiface with 12 mm dia rods and then émuilsion shall be sprayed uniformly ‘over the area. At the expansion joint locations, ant-terinite stall be supplemented by treating the expansion joint with the specified chemical before applying the joint sealant. ‘Along the junction of plinth filling and wall/column faces, 2 channel of 30mm X 30mm shall'be thade and holes made according’ to rod dia with 150mm apart in channel & after that rod moves forward & backward to break up the earth and then chemical emulsion will poured along the vertical wall /column surfice so as to Soak the soil right to the bottom. CEMENT Conerete Mix: All the concrete designated by strength shall. be treated as controlled concrete conforming to Specified exposure, conditions as per tender specification, ‘The characteristic-compressive strength of concrete shall be as.specified in the drawings, Fine aggregate, coarse aggregates should’ be stacked separately. The mixing of concrete shall be done by means of mechanical mixture machine & weigh batching. ‘The Water cement ratio, admixtites, if'any, coafse aggregates. for mix and grading shall be as per approved design mix and confirming'to AFC drawing requirement. Finalization of design mix; 1) + Design mix concrete of specifigd grades shall'be used, 2) Target means.strength for EaiFmines shall be as per IS: 456-2000. 3) Only approved aggregates, water, admixture and cement shall be used 4) Workability:of mix shall confirm to asimentioned in design mix. 5) W/Cratio & cement content shall be as per CEIL specification, 6) Design-mix shall be'as per IS-10262-1982. 7) The design nit shall be earried out in-approved laboratory. 8) Trial mix shall be carried out at site.as per design mix Laying of concrete: ‘The following points shall be checked before starting of the concrete, 1) Proper dewatering measure shall be taken to make the area dry before concreting, 2) Sieve analysis test shall be conducted as per 18-383 3) IS 2386 Part IMI shall be referred for determination of moisture eontent and amount of water shall be adjusted accordingly for:any vatiation. Cari Concrete shall be cured by keeping if continuously moist, wet for'spetified period oP time to time to ensure complete hydration, of cement. Curing shall be started after 8 hrs of placement of concrete. Exposed surface of concrete shall be maintained continuously in a dainp oF wet condition for at least first 7 days after plating of concrete. Fine aggregates shall be of river sand. Quality of aggregates shall confirm to CEIL specifications and shall be tested as per required frequency mentioned in'CEIL specification. Reinforcement Steel: Reinforcement steel shall be procured from CEIL approved vendor only. Manufacturers test certificates shall be provided with proper correlations with Delivery Challan / Invoite. Incoming Matefial Inspection Procedure and result should confirm to IS 1786 & CEIL specifications, Water: Potable water'shall be used for concreting & curing work. Source of water shall be tested as per IS 456-2000 records shall be maintained Admixture: Approved admixture as required shall be used as per contract specification doc: 1n0,05:2895.03.C. 1.003 rev.03 / IS codes of practice. Preparation: Proper notification shall be given prior to concreting, The sequential activities and tasks involved ae as follows: Concrete Mix: All the conerete designed by’strength shall be treated as controlled conerete confirming to specified exposure conditions as per tender specification. The characteristic compressive sirength of concrete shall be as specified inthe drawings. Fine aggregate, coarse aggregates should be stacked separately. The mixing of concrete shall be done by mechanical mixture machine & weigh batching: The water cement ratio, admixtures, if any, coarse aggregates for mix and grading shall be as per approved design mix and confirming:io AFC drawing requirements, Finalization of Design Mix: 1..Desigh mix concrete-of specified grades shall be used. 2. Proper safety piecautions like platform, ladder, approaches, hahdfails, electrical safety ete, shall be taken prior to commencement of concrete Construction Joints: Construction joints shall, be provided only as shown in the drawings/specification. Reinforcement shall continue:thought construction joints. Conereting shall be done up to the construction joint continuously. These joints shall be kept at effective length/3 locations, right angles to the-direction of main reinforcement, Before start of concreting, the construction joint shall be rounded, cleaned and thick layer/coat of cement slurry or adhesive shall be applied if necessary. * Concrete transporting placing, compacting as per CEIL contract specification doe, 'No.05.2893.03.C:1.003 rev.03.
