IPong FAQ/Troubleshooting Guide

Please be sure to visit our website at www. ipong.net and register your iPong robot
when you purchase it to activate your warranty. If you experience a usage issue with
your unit, you can go through our list of common issues and their solutions below. If
you problem persists, please call us at 800-000-0000 or email info@ipong.net.

Ball Feeder Motor not running?

✦ Check to see that the A/C adapter is plugged in all the way.

✦ Unplug A/C adapter. Take the Ball Feeder Plate off to see if there are
obstructions(dust, fuzz, hair, etc.) keeping the motor from spinning. Remove any
obstructions, re-attach A/C adapter and try again

Rubber Wheels not spinning?

✦ Check to see that the A/C adapter is plugged in all the way.

✦ Unplug A/C adapter. Remove top and bottom cone. Remove front plastic casing by
pressing the top and bottom tabs. Check to see if there are any obstructions(dust, fuzz,
hair, etc.) keeping the rubber wheels from spinning. Remove and obstructions, re-
attach A/C adapter and try again.

Balls hitting the side of the discharge hole?

✦ Be sure you are using the correct size balls. iPong robots work only with 40mm table
tennis balls.

Balls falling out hole, not shooting?

✦ Be sure you are using the correct size balls. iPong robots work only with 40mm table
tennis balls.

Balls shooting out at different angles?

✦ Be sure you are using the correct size balls. iPong robots work only with 40mm table
tennis balls.

Balls not shooting at consistent speed?

✦ If you have an iPONG Topspin check the batteries. If you have the iPONG Original
or iPONG Pro check to see that the A/C adaptor is plugged in all the way.

Robot won’t turn on?

✦ For Original and Pro models check to see that the A/C adapter is plugged in all the

way to the back of the robot and the wall.

✦ For Topspin model check to make sure the batteries still have life

No change in speed when remote dials are turned?

✦ The speed does not increase or decrease. The remote dials only change the ball
frequency, meaning how often the balls come out consecutively.

Balls shooting off the end of the table?

✦ Be sure you are using the correct size balls. iPong robots work only with 40mm table
tennis balls.

✦ Try backing the iPONG as close to the edge of the table.

✦ You can purchase an iPONG Tilt Stand which will angle the iPONG down slightly,
shortening the balls distance. Available on our website, www.ipong.net under
Accessories.

Balls getting jammed in there?

✦ Be sure you are using the correct size balls. iPong robots work only with 40mm table
tennis balls.

✦ Be sure that you are not exceeding the maximum ball capacity that the iPONG can
hold; maximum capacity is 100 balls. If the issue still exist try lessening the amount
of balls that you put into the iPONG to about 75 balls.

✦ Check our user manual for a list of different shots and how to achieve them.

Rotating plate tab broken?

✦ The rotating plate is a sensitive part and can break if the iPONG is not handled
carefully. Once the rotating plate has broken it cannot be fixed manually. You will
need to contact customer service for a replacement part.

Last couple balls in hopper don’t shoot out?

✦ This is a common occurrence and not a defect in the product. It is time to reload the
iPong with balls.

What do I do with all the balls lying around on the floor?

✦ You can try our Table Tennis Practice Net. It attaches to your table and will catch any
balls hit into it, so they don’t make it to the floor. Available on our website
www.ipong.net under Accessories.

✦ You could also try our Ball Pickup Net. It is a convenient net with an extendable
handle to make ball collection easy. Available on our website, www.ipong.net under
Accessories.

Balls shooting off the end of the table?

✦ Place the iPong near the back edge of the table to allow more room for the ball.

✦ Increase the topspin a little, until the balls land on the table, and/or decreasing the
backspin.

✦ To allow for more backspin, place an iPong tilt stand under the back of the unit.

Balls getting jammed in there?

✦ A: Be sure you are using the correct size balls. iPong robots work only with 40mm
table tennis balls

✦ A: If the entry cut-out on the agitator plate stops directly above feeder hole, it will
allow multiple balls to enter into the firing chamber and will cause jamming. To
prevent this, avoid turning the unit off with the entry cut-out aligned with the feeder
hole.

Balls hitting side of discharge hole?

✦ A: Check the production date. If unit was produced before 09/2012 the faceplate may
need to be exchanged for one with a slightly larger discharge hole. For a
replacement contact customer service under the Support section at www.ipong.net.

Balls shooting out at different angles?

✦ A: (I thought this was just a result of the balls hitting the side of the hole. Is this a
separate issue)

I don't like picking up all the balls and putting them back in. Is there any way to
have the balls automatically recycle through the machine?

✦ Try hitting all the balls directly back into the top of the iPong unit. You may have to
gently lob them in to prevent them from simply bouncing out.

Does the iPong work for tennis balls too?

✦ No, the iPong robot is designed only for table tennis balls. The fuzzy coverings on
tennis balls can shed and make a mess inside of the iPong. Also, tennis balls are too
large.

Balls shooting off the end of the table?

✦ Adjust topspin/backspin to lower settings. If the ipong is on the tilt stand, adjust the
height/angle.

Balls getting jammed in there?

✦ Turn off Ipong and unplug it from the wall. use your fingers/screwdriver to remove
the jammed balls.

Balls not shooting at consistent speed?

✦ Check to see if there are a significant number of balls in the Ipong, if not it is time to
put more balls in the Ipong.

Balls falling out hole, not shooting?

✦ Be sure you are using the correct size balls. iPong robots work only with 40mm table
tennis balls.

✦ Turn the frequency dial higher in order to give the machine enough power to shoot
the balls.

Having trouble getting the correct topspin/backspin/ you want?

✦ Ensure that only the dial with the spin you want is turned up otherwise the spins may
cancel each other out.

✦ Check our user manual for a list of different shots and how to achieve them.

Ball Feeder constantly obstructed due to dust/hair etc?

✦ Check your 40mm balls, they may be covered in hair/ dust from the friction they
build from the iPong. If used often ensure that the balls are properly dusted before
feeding them into the hopper.

✦ If you are on a carpeted surface check for obstructions often as this may

be heightened by increased amounts of dust/ hair from the playing space.

Balls get Jammed immediately after reloading.

✦ Remove all balls from the ball feeder and the shooter. Let the iPong run empty.
Reload the balls while the iPong is running.

✦ Let the iPong run with no balls and listen to the motor. If it is strained or sounds
funny contact customer service by going to www.ipong.net under Support.

What speed does the iPong shoot the balls? Is the speed adjustable?

✦ It shoots the balls out at a fixed 20mph. You cannot increase or decrease the speed.

Does the iPong require any routine maintenance or cleaning?

✦ It does not require any maintenance, although it is important to make sure the wheels
are clean and free from dust.

What can I do once a ball is jammed or stuck inside the iPong?

✦ Unplug or remove the batteries for the unit. With a couple fingers reach in and fish
the ball out. You can also tip the unit upside down and shake it to get the ball to fall
out.

What is the max speed of the iPong Pro?

✦ 70 balls per minute.

I bought the IPONG pro and it is not working properly. I ball just shoots out
randomly in different directions. The ball does not come out straight. The ball some
times go's left, right and sometimes straight. What can I do?

✦ Replacement iPong sent.

My iPong is very loud when in use.

✦ Turn off machine and examine if there are any obstructions is the wheel
motors. Also, verify the iPong is on a level surface and isn't vibrating and moving
around. If loud noise persists, call Customer Service.

As soon as I turn on the iPong, the balls jam.

✦ This problem is often caused by one or more of the spin control knobs are in the off
position when first turning on the machine. To fix the problem, turn off the machine,
use something to remove jammed balls from the discharge hole, and then making sure
to adjust the spin knobs so that they are slightly on when turning the iPong back on.

iPong isn't turning on.

✦ Confirm the adaptor is plugged in and that there is power to the outlet. The problem
may be due to a bad adaptor plug. Call customer service.

Either the top wheel or bottom wheel no longer rotates.

✦ Call customer service for a replacement.

Balls are loaded but rotating plate isn't moving.

✦ Remove some of the balls from the top feeder. Overloading the top with balls may be
too heavy for the plate to rotate.

The little nub where the rotating plate attaches broke off.

Call customer service for replacement parts.
