A2 Contexts for Speaking Assessments 

 

Context 1 - Would you like to…? 

It is your cousin’s birthday so you decide to take him/her out to eat at a restaurant. 
Invite your cousin to a restaurant then discuss what your dislikes and likes are before 
deciding on where you will go to eat.   

Context 2 - How much does it cost? 

Student A is the customer, Student B is the vendor. You are shopping for something at 
Palacio de la Pantaleta. Have a conversation about what​ ​you are shopping for and what 
the occasion is. Be sure to include comparisons.  

Context 3 - What’s your city like? 

Your classmate is from Monteria and you are from Sincelejo. Have a conversation 
about your cities. Be sure to compare both cities. 

Context 4 - Planning a party 

Have a conversation with your friend in which you will both plan a class party. 
Be sure to include time, food, place and dress code. 

Context 5 - How has English class been? 

You and your friend are both studying English in CECAR but you are in different 
classes. Have a conversation with him or her about how English class has been . 

Context 6 - Past tense 

You are now a parent. Have a conversation with your son/ daughter about your 
past life-past job, places where you lived, place where you were born, past 
friends and so on.  

Context 7 - What did you do over the weekend? 

 

You  haven’t  done  your  homework  because  you  had  a busy weekend. Have a conversation with 

your teacher about what you did over the weekend and why you haven’t done your homework. 
Make plans to complete it.
