a) A brief description of the school and classroom setting:

Sofia completed her student teaching in a traditional K-6 school setting in the Orange USD. She focused her
hours in an Education Specialist setting serving students in grades 3-6 in English language arts and
Mathematics. Based on the Go React videos she primarily taught small group instruction. (BJO)
Sofia completed her student teaching in a K-6 school setting. She taught small group instruction in the areas of
English language arts and math with students from grades K-6. (ES)

b) Performance and growth during student teaching:

Sofia is very professional and reflective in her practice. She completes all tasks on time and is responsive to
coaching and feedback. Sofia has demonstrated growth in all TPEs 1-13 and has developed her collaboration
and management skills. Through Go React videos, she demonstrated practicum and pedagogy planning and
teaching in mathematics and English language arts. Overtime, she demonstrated growth connecting to the
students, and including instruction that was student centered and IEP based. (BJO)
Sofia has shown great growth in all TPEs 1-13. She developed positive and collaborative relationships with staff
and students. Sofia demonstrated knowledge and understanding of English Language Arts and Math
curriculum. She grew in her lesson planning and teaching throughout the semester. (ES)

c) Areas of special competence

Sofia develops lessons that are rigorous and she places a concerted effort to be inclusive and responsive to the
social and emotional needs of the students. (BJO)
Sofia demonstrated the ability to use different teaching strategies to help students with different learning
styles and keep students engaged. Sofia was able to use assessments and progress monitoring to help
determine next steps and guide instruction. (ES)
