2. How well integrated and complementary are the trade and international business
resources offered by the Canadian Government, relative to the needs of the
private sector? What are the gaps, if any, that are perceived to exist?
Developing countries are usually challenging since they overlook the input of the private
sector towards economic development which isn’t right since a stale private sector can
be a great boost to the economy by creating jobs and other income generation activities.
Thus, engaging the private sector and encouraging more investors into the area by
giving them the necessary support and tools is a wise decision and is a great inspiration
to potential entrepreneurs.
3. What does a review of the current press reveal about the attitudes of Canadians in
terms of global business and international trade?
Canadians maintain a positive attitude towards increased potential of trading
internationally however there are some concerns on local business losing their
competitive advantage now that they will be competing in the international market.
Recommendations:
1. Evolving with the changing needs of exporters
2. Increased government support of local businesses through subsidies and loosening
trade barriers
3. Benefit from trade deals that are being negotiated
