The education you receive from your family is more important than the education

you receive from school.

To what extent do you agree with this statement and why?

Some people believe that it is more beneficial for children to receive education from their families than
from schools. In my opinion, I completely disagree with this statement and think that receiving teaching
from a credited institute brings more benefits than learning from close relatives.

Body 1: Reason 1: education from school has better quality as it is reviewed and approved by a national
body.

Firstly, schools provide more important education than families because its content is constantly under
review by a national body. In other words, in most countries, there is usually a ministry of education that
designs and approves the curriculum that every child needs to learn. This process ensures the quality of
the schools’ teaching to be up to a certain standard set by the government. For example, in Vietnam, the
Board of Education is responsible for setting the curriculums and courses’ requirements that every
school, from elementary to high school levels, needs to follow. Because of this process of quality
assurance, children will benefit more from school education as opposed to unstandardized family’s
teaching.

Body 2: Reason 2: accredited educational institute provide children the necessary qualifications to
prepare for their future lives

Secondly, from accredited educational institutes, children can earn widely acknowledged qualifications
that otherwise can not be obtained from family’s teaching. These degrees are critical for children to
prove their competency and knowledge in order to find employment in many fields nowadays. Without
these necessary proofs of education, it is difficult for children to demonstrate their worth even if they
receive adequate education from their families. For instance, almost all healthcare professionals in the
U.S. are required to obtain certain degrees or certifications in order to serve patients and work in this
field. Thus, education from school is more important since it is the only way to acquire the necessary
qualifications.

In conclusion, I strongly believe that it helps the children more to prioritize learning from schools
because they have better quality assurance and acknowledged qualifications.
