The pie charts illustrate different reasons why people
choose to ride bicycles or drive cars to work.
Overall, the two most popular reasons for picking bicycles are health and fitness and less pollution. Meanwhile, driving is preferred mainly because it is comfortable. In addition, 15% of them reported that having no parking convinced them to cycle. Some also stated that no cost and being faster than driving are their reasons for cycling, accounting for 13% and 12% respectively. In terms of driving, being comfortable is the leading reason with the highest percentage of people (40%). It is almost double the percentage of workers who pick this means of transportation because of the distance from home to work, which is 21%. The other reasons for picking cars include being faster, safer and having more room to carry things to work, which account for almost 40% in total.
