1. How does culture influence sexual behavior and sexual orientation?
I believe that culture dictates what acceptable and appropriate behavior is for both men and women. Because we depend on our environment to get through daily life, the opinions of those around us shape our way of thinking and behaving. For example, in my culture, public displays of affection are frowned upon, because we are taught that affection is intimate and should be displayed in private. But, growing up outside of my culture and having exposure to different cultures, being witness to it no longer shocks or surprises me. 2. What is your opinion on homosexual orientation? I find that homosexuality is a very sensitive subject, as views on the matter almost entirely depend on culture. Personally, I am indifferent on the subject. My culture dictates that homosexually is a great sin and is highly frowned upon. However, I have been brought up around a number of different cultures, and have been exposed to homosexuals. I feel that everyone has the right to be whoever and do whatever may bring them peace. 3. What are your suggestions about sex education in college? I think sex education in college is somewhat overlooked. I would suggest making it more of a priority; many students (especially freshman) come to University having basic knowledge about sex and little knowledge about the urges and temptations all around them. To me, that is unsafe and irresponsible. Sex education in college should be a communal and mandatory course.
