ABSTRACT

This research aims to describe the economic potential of the sustainable development of the
Tambakmekar Tourism Village in order to deal with COVID-19 pandemic and to examine the threat,
strengths, opportunities, and challenges of the village’s potential, as well as to examine how to determine
strategies to develop the economic and village’s tourism potential in terms of amenities, attractions, and
accessibility by adapting to the conditions of the covid-19 pandemic so as to create a sustainable tourism
village so that it can meet its own needs and not depend on others. This research uses descriptive
qualitative data analysis methods using primary and secondary data. Through the interview data result,
the analysis of the data was carried out using SWOT and QSPM. Based on the research identified, there
are factors that encourage the tourism villages economic potential, such as the desire of the community to
grow, the community capacity and ability to be entrepreneurs, the existence of Pokdarwis that supports
village tourism, extraordinary natural potential, wealth of arts and culture and can turn out to be
educational function. Due to the pandemic, the situation did not support the tourism area in Tambakmekar
which resulted in deteriorating the economic condition of the village. This research will show the factors
that can encourage the economic potential of tourism villages in Tambakmekar Village which are
reviewed based on SWOT and QSPM analysis. The increasing of interest in community development and
entrepreneurial capacity and ability, the strengthening Pokdarwis to encourage village tourism, the
empowering natural resources, cultural arts and educational function of the villages, and the minimizing
of the threat of the tourism sector due to the pandemic which has an impact on the economic condition of
Tambakmekar Village.
