Living and Non-Living

There are seven characteristics that can be observed, more or less, in all living
organisms. In order to maintain themselves and prevent disintegration, organisms have
an inbuilt self-regulating system to ensure that there is no net energy loss. This control
is referred to as homeostasis and operates at all levels of biological organisation, from
the molecular level to the community level.
