Hard Rock and Psychedelic Rock. It is characterized

by guitars with great distortion, bass and drums
with dense sounds and high-pitched vocals. Groups
such as Van Halen, Kiss, Mötley Crüe and Def
Leppard were key in the musical history of this
genre. The characteristic look of leather, tacks and
spikes was popularized by Judas Priest. Over the
years, techniques and effects have been innovated
with the guitar such as: palm mute, bend, hammer-
on and tapping.
