In view of the prevailing Covid-19 situation in the country, it is my hope and prayer that you are all managing and coping with the impact of this global pandemic that has affected almost everyone. Itis with a heavy heart that I wish to share with you the passing of three members of staff at the CHAZ Secretariat due to Covid-19. Lam aware that some of you have also lost members of staff due to Covid-19. May the souls of all our people who have succumbed to Covid-19 across our nation rest in peace. This letter serves to notify you that the CHAZ Board of Trustees during their meeting on 26" August 2021 made the following resolutions regarding the 45" CHAZ General Council and Golden Jubilee: 1. Dates: The official opening of the two events shall be held on 19" October 2021 ‘The Business of the General Council shall be conducted from 20" to 21% October 2021 2. Theme: ‘The theme of the 45" General Council is “50 Years of God's faithfulness and Grace in Health.” 3. Guest of Honour and Official Opening God willing, the Guest of Honour shall be His Excellency, the President of the Republic of ‘Zambia, Mr. Hakainde Hichilema. 4, Attendanes Members shall send only one representative to the General Assembly to reduce on administrative and logistical costs. Note: A decision was made to postpone the 45" General Council from 2019 to 2020 so that it could be jointly held at the same time with the Golden Jubilee. This was due to financial constraints. However, the two events could not take place in 2020 because of Covid-19 restrictions on travel and the number of people that could congregate at one particular time. All the important stakeholders including the Church Leaders and Members were informed in writing, Phone :+260 211 428000/+260 211 428001/ +260 211 428002Due to budgetary constraints, CHAZ is only able to provide Lunch and Tea for the three days. In this regard, the Board of Trustees has requested that the cost of transport, accommodation and upkeep while in Lusaka be catered for fully by your institution / organization and not the CHAZ Secretariat. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. To facilitate smooth hosting of this very important event in the calendar of CHAZ, we humbly request for the name of the person who will represent your institution at the 45" General Council and Golden Jubilee Celebrations. In addition, please let us know if you need any assistance in making accommodation bookings on your behalf. Delegates to the 45" General Council are expected to arrive on Monday, 18" October and depart on Friday, 22 October 2021 We also wish to remind you to pay your annual membership subscription fees because failure to do so will make you ineligible to participate in Board elections. ‘The CHAZ Secretariat shall put in place all the measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 by adhering to the five golden rules adopted by the Government of the Republic of Zambia and being promoted by the Ministry of Health such as masking up, social distancing and washing hands regularly with soap. In solidarity with Government, the Board is encouraging all the people to consider vaccination against Covid-19 to protect themselves and others against the disease.
