INTRODUCTION
The DANLOAD 6000 PRESET SIMULATOR REFERENCE MANUAL (Daniel Industries Part
Number: 3-9000-677) provides a brief description and explanation of the Daniel Industries Inc.
DanLoad 6000 Preset Simulator.
The DanLoad 6000 Preset Simulator is designed to function in conjunction with the Daniel
Industries DanLoad 6000 Preset in order to simulate load rack conditions and operations. This
is made possible by connecting the DanLoad 6000 Preset through terminals from the SIM Rear
Terminal Board located on the DanLoad 6000 Preset Simulator with a set of cables, which are
provided with the simulator unit. The DanLoad 6000 Preset Simulator is then configured to
duplicate (or simulate) output signals to the DanLoad 6000 Preset by using the selector settings
on the simulator unit’s front panel.
For additional information related to the operation and function of the DanLoad 6000, refer to
the DANLOAD 6000 REFERENCE MANUAL (Daniel Industries Part Number: 3-9000-670).

CABLE CONNECTIONS
Before the DanLoad 6000 Preset Simulator can be operated, it is essential that all cable
connections between the DanLoad 6000 Preset Simulator and the DanLoad 6000 Preset be
completed. This is accomplished by using the cables, which are supplied with the simulator unit.
All connections from the DanLoad 6000 Preset Simulator are made from the unit’s SIM Rear
Terminal Board (Daniel Part Number: 4-6000-016), shown in the following illustration, to the
DanLoad 6000 Preset Unit. The cables, which are supplied with the simulator unit, are identified
by Daniel Industries part numbers, and the terminals on the simulator unit’s SIM Rear Terminal
Board are identified with "J" numbers and names so that proper connections can be made.

CONFIGURATION AND OPERATION
INTERNAL SWITCHES/JUMPERS
Settings, which affect all internal switches/jumpers, are confined to the DanLoad 6000 Preset
Simulator’s Preset Simulator Board (Daniel Part Number: 3-6000-014), which is shown in the
following illustration. These internal switches/jumpers are default set by Daniel Industries, but,
if necessary, can by changed by a customer.
_____________________________________________________________________
16 SECTION 3
DanLoad 6000 Simulator ____________________________________________
In total, there are eight internal switches/jumpers on the DanLoad 6000 Preset Simulator’s Preset
Simulator Board including
- S1, S2, S3 and S4, which simulate the rate of change from open to close on four
different valves controlled by switch settings
- S5, S6, S7 and S8, which adjust the maximum frequency of the pulse inputs from
the simulator unit to the DanLoad 6000 Preset

THE EXTERNAL FRONT PANEL
The external front panel of the DanLoad 6000 Preset Simulator, which is shown in the following
illustration, is arranged or partitioned into nine separate configuration or display areas or sections.
_____________________________________________________________________
18 SECTION 3
DanLoad 6000 Simulator ____________________________________________
The nine areas or sections on the simulator unit’s front panel include
1. The DC OUTPUTS section, which includes two 8-digit display counters and two
LED display lights. These are controlled by four DC outputs from the DC I/O
Board or two Meter Pulse Boards. Two control the DC Output Counters and the
other two control the two LED display light for the DC outputs.
2. The Meter section, which includes four separate sets of LED display lights that
are identified as SOL 1, SOL 2, PUMP and ALARM. These sixteen LED display
lights are used to indicate flow control simulation for METER 1, METER 2,
METER 3 and METER 4 and are controlled by sixteen AC outputs from the AC
I/O Boards. The eight LED display lights for METER 1 and METER 2 are
controlled by one AC I/O Board, and the eight LED display lights for METER 3
and METER 4 are controlled by a second AC I/O Board.
- can be started and stopped by using the START and STOP buttons.
The first PROVER PULSE switch is used to monitor a Meter Pulse Board and the
second PROVER PULSE switch is used to select either waveform pattern A
(TEST A) or waveform pattern B (TEST B).

4. The PULSE TEST/PULSE PROVE section, which includes two 8-digit display
counters. The PULSE TEST 8-digit display counter provides a signal count from
either waveform A or waveform B, depending on which switch selection setting
(TEST A or TEST B) is selected in the PULSE SECURITY/PULSE TEST
section. The PULSE PROVE 8-digit display counter displays waveform signal
counts back from the DanLoad 6000 Preset unit to the DanLoad 6000 Preset
Simulator unit.
5. The RTD INPUTS section, which includes four switches numbered 1 through 4.
Each of the four switches have a HIGH and LOW settings, which act as two-range
fixed resistors for RTD inputs.
7. The ADDITIVE INJECTION section, which includes six 8-digit display counters
numbered 1 through 6. Each of the counters are controlled by six inputs from the
AC I/O Board or an Enhanced I/O Board.
8. The STATUS INPUTS section, which includes a set of six DC status input
switches numbered 1 through 6, a set of five AC status input switches numbered
1 through 4, and a single, three-position ON/OFF/ON switch. Each of the six DC
status input switches has an ON or OFF setting and normally acts as a closure for
DC Status Board signals. Each of the five AC status input switches has an ON or
OFF setting and normally acts as a closure for AC Status Board signals. The
single, three-position ON/OFF/ON switch normally acts as a closure for Swing
Arm signals.
9. The 4-20 MA INPUTS section, which includes a set of four dials numbered 1
through 4, is used to provide 4-20 ma signal outputs to simulate transmitters.
