INTRODUCTION

There many nonmedical factors that contribute to student’s

absenteeism in school. An student’s total situation or total environment

may be a causative factor in excessive “sick absenteeism.” In many

instances that cure for “abnormal” sickness absenteeism is within the

province of supervisory personnel, who should look upon abuse of sick

among student’s as morale problems and as evidence of possible

maladjustment to the demands of the student’s or the school. There are,

however, many problems in mental and physical health affecting absence

rates in which preventive psychiatry and medicine can make greater

contributions. Even truancy and malingering may sometimes be conditions

requiring professional medical care.

The role of a private physician in determining and certifying the true

state of a patient’s health is a most important one economically to school

and the community. The total problem of absenteeism for sickness as it

exists in school today, points up the need for the most effective

cooperation and communication possible between industrial and private

physicians. Since no more than 25 percent of the total work force is

student in school having in-plant medical programs, the burden of

responsibility for the control of absenteeism for sickness rests mainly with

private practitioners.

Absenteeism is a habitual pattern of absence from a school without

good or valid reason. Traditionally, absenteeism has been viewed as an

indicator of poor individual performance, as well as a branch of an implicit

contract between students and teacher. It is a one major to learning faced

by students and teacher today is a lack of consistent attendance in

classrooms.

In United State Department of Education (2014) has cited

absenteeism as the most important factor linked to performance

differences among students and absenteeism has recently been identified

as being at crisis proportion (Karney 2015). Although many schools realize

the importance of this topic the attention it deserves (couville- smith 2015).

Additionally while some attempts to increase attendance rates have

advantages including cost, draibage if faculty resources, difficulty of

implementation, or consumption. (Delkalb, 2014 Lamdin, 2015)

According to Philippine Basic Education People have strong

opinions about almost anything and the issue of education is no exception.

How these opinions have been formed needs to be examined. This is

what good research does. It informs and guide. A myriad of factors

influence education and often times, these factors are not independent

from each other. Factors interact sometimes these add, and other times,

these subtract. General nations therefore need to be carefully drawn,

writing articles on education can also be quite challenging. When

problems in basic education involve an inability to think critically, it is

difficult to reach the audience and convery the correct message.

Oftentimes, sarcasm is lost so such style of writing needs to be avoided.

For people who are convinced of there wisdom and understanding of holo

education works, profound message from basic search can be often easily

lost. According from the findings of Molina has cited by E. Padilla in her

study on the factor causing the child absenteeism it was related that pupils

have poor attendance especially in the afternoon because of these factor:

lack of interest on going to school, parents are the factor of the pupils

absenteeism, computer video games, TV drama series play important part

in pupils poor attendance, and pupils in the hinterland school have very

poor attendance. School absenteeism is an alarming problem for

administrators, teachers, parents, society in general, and pupils in

particular, unaccepted absences.
