ASSIGNMENT 2
The Chemical Basis of Life

1. What do you think is the importance of Chemistry in studying Anatomy and Physiology?
For me, Chemistry describes how cells generate energy and proteins. Fundamental knowledge of
chemistry may help us students comprehend how our organs operate and how our body's systems
interact. It also explains how our cells create energy and proteins, how we breathe and have blood,
and which nutrients and minerals are necessary for proper nutrition. With a fundamental
knowledge of chemistry, we can understand why our organs perform the way they do or how our
body's systems function. Chemistry explains how oxygen is carried via the circulation, it also
explains how the cells are built. It helps us to understand the purpose of body organs, also
enhancing our knowledge about what food should we take for our body to be healthy and properly
function.

2. How can you utilize your learnings and knowledge in Chemistry as a nursing professional in
the future?
We all know that chemistry has historically been one of the most difficult subjects for nursing
students in a nursing school, but the purpose of this mixed method research was to determine the
effect of previous chemistry experiences on chemistry success during a health research
laboratory. Learning chemistry as a nursing student is part of health and science. I can say that
utilizing my learnings and knowledge in Chemistry is somehow difficult because it takes a lot of
patience, struggle and difficulties. On the bright side, applying your learnings in the nursing field
will surely develop every actions you make to provide a better care to the patients and also for
them to recover easily.
