1. Consider the set of points {x̄(k)}k=1:4 , x̄ ∈ R2 given in the file SC_CT2_DataSet.pdf. [4+2+4]
(a) Find the principal directions and the variance of the data along these. Show your calculation for finding
eigen values and eigen vectors.
(b) Find the coordinates of the data points w.r.t. the transformed coordinate system.
(c) It is required to enclose the points tightly by a rectangle oriented along the principal direction. Determine
the coordinates of the corner points of the rectangle w.r.t. the original coordinate system.
