What is the book about?

Out of the maze is powerful story that illustrates important life lessons about adapting to change both
personal and professional lives. It teaches us the importance of adapting to new realities which include
new situations, thoughts, beliefs and new directions. Out of the maze involves passing through darkness
which means to overcome challenges. We must change our mindset, persevere, take actions and finally
get out of them like the way Hope and Hem did until they found their cheese, apples, good
environment, and their longtime friends Haw and the Mice.

Adopting to change. Change refers to the process through which something becomes different .this
helps us to find solutions to different problems by use of different methods which are effective. I n the
book Henm was hungry and therefore changed his mind of thinking tha t cheese was the onluy food and
when Hopegave him the apple , he tested it and discovered it was good.

Thoughts and beliefs. Beliefs refers to an acceptance tht some thing exist or it is true with out proof. In
the book, Hem had his own beliefs like maze is dangerous , cheese is the only food, yhis made him face
a lot of challenges in his life. This helps to teach human beings to creat the beliefs, change them and
follow them.

Hope. This is the feeling of expectation and the need for aparticullar thing to happen . This teaches us
that we should always expect good resulys in the decisions we make . Forexample Hope gave Hem new
ideas encouraged him to penerate the dark corner continually expecting something though it seemed
dangerous.

Out of the maze .This tellus when you try to search for your cheese from somewhere foreaxmple place
of work, its better to change your destiny . forexample Hem and Hope tried out dangerous corners and
finally landed in the beautiful environment with cheese, apple and their friends who were out of the
maze.

Persistance in the face of disappointment . Hem found new beliefs in the ower of believing in
possibilities and he resolves to find aw ay out the maze .He was avoiding all of the mazes dark corners
which he was shying awy from out of the fear.But he realized that his fear and the avoidant behavior
that the maze was dangerous, he concludedthat it was aa belief in the dangerous ness that was could
hold him back preventing him from exploring new parts of the maze .

Beliefs and thoughts. In performance management, the managers should be flexible and use the most
appropriate performance assessment toolos or methods depending on how employees are performing
in the organization . forexample use of observation to see clearly how an employeeis doing aparticular
task such that if he is not preforming to the expectations, he can be given aright direction oo how to
perform well. Managers should also ensure that their employees agree to the set goals without
compromising with their beliefs and wwhat they believe they can do.

Net working. In performance management, the top management and line managers need to ensure goal
setting such that the organizational objectives are well understood .This helps different stake holders
to come up with different ideas on how organizational goals should be achieved.
