Dear Andy Murray, 2/15/2016

I saw a story on ESPN a couple years ago about you and I was able to take down some notes. I
was able to embellish the story with some of my own words accordingly. I decided to write a story and
frame it for you. I am a retired physical education elementary teacher and I was very touched and
moved by your event. My son and I got to see you play at the U.S . Open a few years ago and you took
time out after to speak to my son and sign his Oakland Athletic's hat. He subsequently went from high
school tennis to play division 1 tennis at Wagner College in Staten Island, New York. He currently
teaches private tennis lessons and also teaches tennis at the city parks department for senior citizens
and they just love HIM! I am ever so thankful that you took the time after a grueling match to talk to my
son and sign his hat. One never knows how far their influence will extend. I was elated to see you in the
finals of the Australian open this year. Even though you didn't win, you certainly had a lot on your mind.
I was equally as ecstatic that your brother won the Doubles Final.

As you can surmise I am a procrastinator and I sat on my work for approximately 3 years. Take
solace in the fact that you had a wonderful Wimbledon win that can never be taken away from you. I
wish you good luck on your upcoming new baby and becoming a proud new parent. I sincerely hope you
keep this framed reminder of how precious a gift life is and how fortunate you and your brother were to
have been saved on that tragic day. Again I want to thank you for the kindness you extended to my son
at the U.S . Open.

P.S. Please know I want nothing from you in return except the promise from you that you'll never
change. That you'll always take time out for your loving fans whenever you can and that you will
appreciate life. I am going through my own difficult journey of stage 4 colon cancer and try to enjoy the
gift of life each day!

Gratefully,
