CLINICAL NURSING- II:

Description:

This course is designed to develop an understanding of legal and ethical issues, family
services, and promotion of health of women, nursing management of problems of
pregnancy, Labour, puerperium and newborns in various health care setting.

Objectives;
At the end of the course, the student will be able to;
1. Recognize and Manage problems during pregnancy, Labour, and postpartum
period by using guidelines and protocols.
2. Identify and manage problems of newborns using guidelines and protocols.
3. Provide family welfare services to couple family planning in their families.
4. Identify and manage problems related to reproductive tract infection, STI, and
HIV
5. Identify and manage gynaecological problems.
6. Screen and refer for oncological conditions like breast cancer, uterine cancer and
cancer cervix.
7. Apply the Code of Ethics, Practice standards, service standards and Clinical
Guidelines in midwifery.
8. Recognize the legal implication of various aspects of midwifery practice.
