Here we use locking multi port rocker arm & two cam profile in place of single

cam prolife & rocker arm. One camshaft is used to decrease fuel consumption &
provides engine stability at low RPM. Another or second camshaft profile is used to
maximize power output at high RPM. The switching operation is done by using
engine control module.

Engine control module is designed according to the camshaft profile by

calculating & analyzing various factors. Factors are engine temperature, oil pressure,
throttle position & engine speed.

At switch point a solenoid is actuated that allows oil pressure from a spool
valves to operates a locking pin which binds the high RPM rocker arm to low RPM
ones. From this point on, the valves open and close according to high lift profile,
which opens the valve further and for a longer time. The switch over point is variable
between a minimum & maximum point & is determined by engine load. The switch-
down back from high to low RPM cams is set to occur at a lower engine speed than
the switch up to avoid a situation in which the engine is asked to operate
continuously at or around the switch-over point.

10.4 V-Tech E.

V-Tec E implementation is a variation of single over head camshaft V-Tec

which is used to increase combustion efficiency at low RPM while maintaining the
mid range performances of non V-Tec engines.
