Xogo Mobility Disabilty

● Xogo is an assistive technology
company co-founded by a man who
grew up with a family member with
mobility difficulty. They created this
device to attach to consoles, cable
boxes, and home devices so people
with disabilities are still able to
participate in technology such as
video games and using a computer.
An example of a Xogo product is a
joystick that can be attached to a
wheelchair. This can be used in the
classroom for computer and
technology education.

Use in a Special Education Class
▸ Useful for students who have mobility disabilities
but still have some use of their upper body.
▸ Allows for students to use technology used by
classmates without disabilities allowing for
inclusion.
▸ By providing adaptive technology through Xogo,
students are still able to learn computer literacy
and use technology as a learning tool.
 Pros
▸ Inclusive of students with disabilities without having to have
exclusive technology that feels isolating.

▸ Attaches to devices already commonly used.

▸ Can be used in the classroom as well as at home.

▸ The company has created a website where users can create

hookups for Xogo and share with other users if they have a
product suggestion.
 Cons
▸ Does have an initial extra cost that schools will have to
budget for.

▸ Not suitable for all disabilities. Ex: someone who has mobility
issues in the arms.

▸ Not yet widely used so there will be a learning and

adjustment period.

▸ Ensure that the tools are not abused for games but instead
used for learning.
