POLICE, Garenton Police Station Lawhouse Road, Garenton, GR 85H Tel: 012.47 668775 ‘March 3rd 2021 Dear Detective Inspector, ‘As you have seen, some evidence was not followed up on at the time, and some was omitted completely. ‘What follows is either completely new evidence, or evidence not added to the case file at the time Hendrix was charged. I think you will agree thae this conviction is unsafe, We have collected clear evidence that Hendrix has an alibi for the time of the incident. Its also clear that the police work conducted at the time was not very thorough. Looking into the police conduct records of the officers, wwe can see thae several cases that DI George McCallum ran have subsequently been re-examined and found to be unsafe. Sadly DI George McCallum has advanced dementia, therefore we will never know for sure why he proceeded to convict Hendrix contrary to the evidence. We do however, now need your help to determine who realy killed Gilbert Sullivan, and see if we can bring them to justice. Digging deeper into Dr. Sullivans life has revealed a few things that put his good character into doubt, was he really the upstanding member of the community he was perceived to be? Perhaps there is another motive altogether for his murder? Dr. Gilbert Sullivan appeared to take out a £100,000 life insurance policy on 12th February 1999, the payout was shared equally between Emily & Francis Sullivan. In his will Gilbert Sullivan left the family home to Francis, his middle child. He left Emily & Edward 2 of his Garenton Rental properties each. ‘We have also interviewed Lyle Thompson and Amber Jenkins, these people were not interviewed at the time. Evidence relating to Mr Thompson was recovered from the scene, an invoice pointing to irregularities in the church accounts that Dr Sullivan was investigating. Amber Jenkins was able to corroborate Hendrix's alibi, she was unable to do so at the time as she was only 12 years old, however a statement from Tracey Jenkins providing her son with an alibi was omitted from the case file. ‘An eatting recovered from the scene, has been run through the new police cold case database, and we have managed to find a link to an unsolved 1956 murder case. As of yet we do not know if this is of significance but the information is included. Please will you take a look over all the evidence, and see if we have any viable suspects, remember all suspects need a motive, means, and opportunity to commit the murder. Yours Sincerely, ( Hepbing Detective Sergeant Hopkins PS IF you reach the end of the evidence, and are unsure how to proceed, we have some clues which may be helpful, you can view these on our website. The link to the website is provided in the welcome document.
