Gilbert @ Pauline are heading to a Bosnian refugee camp, armed with donations from
generous neighbours. Pauline and Gilbert Sullivan are heading to Neesbyhoved-Broby, a
village on the island Fyn, Denmark next month, to volunteer at the camp. The pair are
now on a final donation raising drive before they leave on Friday, March 11. They
want people to donate sleeping bags, first aid kits and other essentials. Gilbert &
Pauline, of Wotton-under-Hill, said they have received help from lots of local businesses
and have been “blown away” by the generosity shown. Gilbert said "A removal company
is also collecting as well as a number of other local individuals. People are simply doing
what they can, to try and make a difference. We are doing this because we are a town
with many small businesses, and if we pull together we can make a big difference. We
are travelling in conjunction with Help Refugees. If you want to help, please send
donations to St. Mary’s Church, sadly no money can be taken, just items on our list.
Our visit will be the first in a series of visits, and our intention is to gather the positive
intent, from such a thriving little town”

Throw we havent been talking much lately, and we havent cat down together in a really long
time, but Ilove you dearly, and I am happy we are here together today. You have played cuch a
‘huge role in my life. have co many memoriee of spending time with you. Remember when I taught
‘you how to swim? You were co afraid, and I told you to pretend that you were a dog, like Rover,
‘and to do the dogay paddle - I knew how much you loved him! I often think about when you
started your new cecondary cchool, and you were having trouble with that boy being mean to you
‘ac you were inte dancing, I reminded you that it's more important to be yourself than to lie just
<0 people would like you. That ceemed to help you get through that tough cituation, you ctarted the
school dance club For boys, you were co popular after that. You trusted me to help you, and I did.
know that you have been abusing preceription pain pills cince your accident. I know that there
pain pills are addictive if you take too many, and you have been taking too many for a long time
now. I dont know if your doctor explained it to you, but addiction ie a disease. Your body ic used
to the pille now, and it alwayc wante them. People who work in addition cay that it would be
really hard for you to etop on your own. I read about how pain pill make people Feel and look, and
Tve seen you that way co many times. Lact week, when I came over to visit, you were standing in
the kitchen acting ctrangely, you were just rocking back and forth and didn't respond when I
talked to you. I was co worried. [know that you worry about me now my cancer has returned, as
_you love me, and this addiction is no different, I worry about you, as I love you too. Tim not the
‘only one who loves you. We all do, Sucanna needs her Dad, and Sara needs her husband. That's
why we already reserved a space in a rehab program for you. We found you a great place. The
people are really nice, and they can help you; they've helped a lot of people. It's hard for me to cay
this next part, but Ihave to, for you and for myself
Tf you dont go to rekab today, Iam not going to protect your drug abuse anymore. [wont tell
lies to people For you. Tf people ack me what's wrong with you, Tin going to tell them the truth.
But it doesn't have to be thic way. You can get help. This diceace is 100% treatable. Please will
you accept mine and Dad's offer and go to rehab today?
With all my love,
Mam xxxSTATEMENT
