One of my experiences when getting my Covid-19 vaccine was the fear and effects of the
vaccine in my body. Due to the numerous death cases and rumors of side effects of the
Covid-19 vaccine, it made me think twice if I should even get the vaccine for my sake.
Setting those thoughts aside, I still mustered up courage in getting vaccine, not only does
it help in protecting me from the deadly virus, but it will also help in protecting the people
around. I went to Pres. Sergio Osmeña High School to get my vaccine since it’s the
nearest one where I’m staying; it was a well-ventilated school and is sanitary. Once I
arrived at the venue, the place itself practiced social distancing and requires all
individuals to wear their face masks and face shields while getting the vaccine. One of
the side effects I experienced when I got my Sinovac vaccine is a sudden change in my
body; I experienced immediate tiredness when I got home, and I took medicines such as
Biogesic since I’m already feeling the changes in my body. I was qualified to get the
vaccine because I was running a small business to help me and my family in our financial
expenses; I help in delivering home-made peanut butter to our customers and that gave
me the urge to get the vaccine since I am delivering goods to unknown places and
unvaccinated people as well. I received my first dose of Sinovac vaccine on August 16
and received my second dose on September 13; in my opinion, this helped me not only
as a student but also a Filipino in encouraging individuals to get their vaccine since we’re
still experiencing the effects of the pandemic. I hope more and more Filipinos will get
their vaccines and always keep in mind to get enough sleep, eat well, and avoid fatty and
oily foods before taking their vaccines.
